Consumers care about sustainability and seek out companies that mirror their level of care. This movement isn’t new, however new momentum around eco-consciousness has galvanized the sustainable business sector. Between 2016 and 2021, Google searches for sustainable products grew by over 70%.
This consumer focus on sustainability is providing results for these eco-marketed products. A New York University study found that sales for products marketed as sustainable are growing faster than their non-sustainable counterparts— a trend that is especially apparent in the sustainable food markets.
